Hello Lovelies,
I recently participated in the Easter Bunny Quilt Swap, hosted by Sharon @shoppershaz_swaphost on Instagram. This was my first ever time partaking in a swap. Most of you know how much I love bunnies! It is my favourite animal. So when I saw a swap that was all about bunnies, I couldn't resist! The over all experience of the swap was great. It was very well organised by Sharon and I highly recommend it.
Of course I wanted to make my bunny extra special for my swap partner in New Zealand. So I designed the Zen Bunny Mini Quilt. Using my favourite technique, modern applique and scraps of felt to add texture.
Free Pattern, yes you saw right... it's FREE!
I had so much fun creating and sewing my Zen Bunny Mini Quilt, I wanted to share the love and offer you all the opportunity to create your very own!
The Zen Bunny Mini Quilt is a fun modern appliqué project that will give your wall a cute and quirky vibe! Perfect to create for a nursery or even quilt swaps. The Zen Bunny is a creature of peace, relaxation and tranquility. With a lucky carrot charm necklace and blushing cheeks, this mini is full of sweetness.
Applique with Decorative Stitches!
Learn tips and tricks for Appliqueing with Decorative Stitches. From using the correct presser foot and tension, to positioning and speed.
However the most valuable tip for sewing successfully with decorative stitches is: experimentation and practice. Take some fabric and have fun!
Quilting Fun!
When it comes to quilting this cutie, I decided to use an echo quilting technique.
Using a walking foot, stitch around the outside of the Zen Bunny using a 3mm straight stitch. Then echo quilt to fill in the negative space.
I think this style of quilting adds to the "zen" and it's a quick and easy way to quilt your mini.

I would love to see your finished Zen Bunny Mini Quilt.
