Workshop: Fairy Bread Case
Join Mandy from Sew Quirky to create the most whimsical and happy treat featured on a practical jelly vinyl case! Fairy bread is the most nostalgic food, taking you back to the magic of childhood. Eaten at birthday parties and celebrations, this colourful favourite just makes you smile.
In this 2.5 hr workshop, you’ll learn how to work with Sew Quirky Sprinkle and Jelly Vinyls, along with continuous metallic gold zipper with a very easy and unique zipper installation. Never heard of Jelly Vinyl? It is a slightly transparent vinyl with a matte finish. It is pliable and soft which makes sewing this vinyl a breeze on a regular sewing machine with some helpful tips provided throughout this workshop.
So come and dive into the wonderful world of Sew Quirky! Everything is provided for this workshop, including the full kit, unreleased pattern, threads, sewing supplies and sewing machine use. Mandy is excited to guide you through the entire process of sewing this cheerful fairy bread case. It is sure to ignite those wonderful childhood memories and is a delight to make!

​Join Mandy, the creative mind behind the brand Sew Quirky, for a fun packed experience creating your very own Tweet Heart! In this fabulous workshop, you’ll create either Rosie the Galah or Sunny the Cockie who are featured on a tote bag. Beautiful fabrics build this modern appliqué, which is set on a velvet background - a gorgeous fabric full of charm and texture. During the workshop, you’ll try out the amazing Sew Quirky Ultra Clear Appliqué Mat and create your own appliqué “sticker” with ease and precision, ready to apply to anything you wish! It’s just like paint by number, but with fabrics! Mandy guides you through the entire process in a nurturing teaching space, sharing tips and tricks for stunning results.
Learn techniques for working with fusible web, appliqué on velvet and continuous zipper. Utilise decorative stitches to detail elements of your appliqué, it’s perfect for adding a feathery appearance and loads of textural interest! Full pre-cut appliqué kit of your choice, natural tote, velvet, stabiliser and zipper included, along with machine hire, sewing supplies and threads! No need to bring a thing! You’d be a galah to miss out on sew much fun!! Once attached to the pre-made natural tote bag, your feathered pal becomes the perfect travel companion! A quirky tote guaranteed to spark conversation and sure to make everyone smile on your next adventure.

Designing projects featuring appliqué, fussy cutting, free motion quilting & inventive uses of decorative stitching to create art with an abundance of texture. In this 4 day masterclass, Mandy will take you on a journey where you’ll grow confident in fabric selection, looking at fabric in a new light & immersing yourself with fussy cut blooms to create a rich scene of Uluru. Goldie the camel wants the spotlight, her energy fills the work with charm & character. Gorgeous big eyes, detailed with free motioned lashes whisper an invitation for you to explore her home of spirit & beauty. Adorned with trims, pops of colour & vinyl's bring a wonderland of interest to this kind-hearted animal of the desert.
When it comes to sewing, get ready to make use of those decorative stitches & see them dance over your appliqué collage.
